Applying for a graduate programme is exciting. Below, you can find answers to some of the questions we are asked most frequently about our Supply Chain Graduate Programme.

What are the formal qualifications?

We are looking for Supply Chain graduates in Denmark, Sweden, UK and Germany, therefore you must state in your application which country or countries you would like to be considered for. Furthermore, you need to have finalized your Bachelor's or Master's degree not more than 2 years prior to the start of the graduate programme in September.

There is no requirement to speak another language than English but is of course a plus. You are not required to speak neither Danish, Swedish or German. 

How many positions are available?

The concrete number of Supply Chain graduates may vary from year to year, depending on business needs and the number of qualified candidates. We expect to hire 8 graduates every year.

How do I apply?

We normally open our application window in October for the next year's intake for the programme. Please follow our website and our social media channels for further information. You can also go to Vacancies to see all the current open positions. 

When applying, please attach your CV and your academic certificates from your studies and any other document you find relevant. If you have not yet completed your degree, please attach an overview of your latest exam marks. In your application you must convince us that your educational background, personality and interest in Supply Chain, is what we are looking for in order to become a key employee and future leader in Arla Foods.

It is imperative that your application is in English, and non-English applications will not be taken into consideration. That also means that your exam papers must be translated into English, unless they are in either English, German or any of the Scandinavian languages. 

How are the rotations?

The Supply Chain Graduate Programme consists of four rotations of 6 months across our Supply Chain organisaiton. For each rotation, you will work on a strategic project at your respective Supply Chain location. All Supply Chain graduates will work on a project within the same topic, decided by the Supply Chain leadership team.

Your first rotation will be in your home country (Denmark, Sweden, Germany or UK) for 6 months at one of our Supply Chain locations. The programme is based at our Production sites, distribution centers or warehouses – no office based.

The second rotation will be in the same location as the first rotation. On the third rotation you will travel to a different country to experience a new Supply Chain location for 6 months. The location of this rotation will be determined in dialogue with the programme manager after starting the programme. For the fourth rotation you will return to the same location as in your first and second rotation.

What projects do you work on during your rotations?

On all rotations, all Supply Chain graduates will work on a project related to the same topic. The topic of each rotation is decided by the Supply Chain Leadership Team. This could be within areas such as Sustainability, Digitalization, Operational Excellence, among much more.

In which locations will the rotations be?

Your ”home location” can be at our Supply Chain locations within Denmark, Sweden, Germany or UK. The specific location within these countries will be decided during the recruitment process in dialogue with you. The programme is at our production sites, warehouses and distribution centers – not office-based.

The location for your rotation abroad (3rd rotation) will be decided after you have started the programme.

Will I get an influence on the locations for my rotations?

Home location: When you apply to the Supply Chain graduate programme, you must indicate which countries you would like to be considered for. The specific location within this country will be determined in dialogue with the programme manager when you receive the job offer. Please indicate any specific preferences during the recruitment process.

International rotation (abroad): On the third rotation you will go abroad to a different country for 6 months. The specific location will be determined in dialogue with the programme manager during the programme. You will be able to state your preferences however we cannot guarantee that you will travel to specific locations of your choice.

What learning opportunities will the Supply Chain Graduate Programme provide me with?

As a graduate in Arla Foods you will be provided with several opportunities to support your learning

  • You will be allocated a personal mentor who is a Senior Manager or Director in Arla, who will guide you through your personal development plan, and help build your network.
  • On each rotation, you will have a Development Manager who will evaluate your performance and behavior in the current position, and provide valuable feedback.
  • You will get professional coaching to bring focus on your strengths and areas for improvement.
  • As part of your graduate journey, you will attend four development camps where you will be provided with relevant tools and theories, and develop your leadership skills.
  • On your rotations you will work on relevant business critical projects in an international setting and get your own responsibilities, which will build your competencies and provide you with relevant work experiences.
  •  Last but not least, you will become a part of a large graduate network within Arla.

Am I guaranteed a job when I finish the program?

As a Supply Chain graduate, you are hired for two years as a full-time employee. When you have completed the programme, we expect your skills and experiences to qualify you for another full-time job at Arla. There is no unconditional job guarantee, but due to our investment in the Graduate Programme, we want to make good use of your unique skills when you have finished the programme and graduates will be prioritized compared to candidates with similar qualifications.  

Will I receive feedback on my application?

As we experience a huge interest in the Supply Chain Graduate Programme and receive many applications, we unfortunately will not be able to provide individual feedback for all applicants.
