Arla Foods’ Supervisory Board has approved a proposal from the Group’s Denmark Division to cease operations at Århus Dairy Centre with effect from October 4, 2004.

Arla Foods’ liquid milk production will subsequently be centred on the Slagelse, Hobro and Christiansfeld dairies.
Århus Dairy Centre produces and distributes approximately 55 million kg fresh products per year, i.e. milk, cream, buttermilk. Production will be transferred to Hobro and Christiansfeld.

To the greatest extent possible, the 165 strong workforce – of whom 130 are full-time employees – will be offered work elsewhere in Arla Foods. The move will create around 60 new jobs at Hobro and 30 at Christiansfeld.
