Robert Wiseman, the Scottish dairy group, plans to open a distribution terminal in the Greater London area within the next twelve months, the group announced in its interim report.

From the new terminal, Robert Wiseman, which together with Dairy Crest is Arla Foods UK plc's largest rival in the UK liquid milk market, intends to supply customers in London and South East England.
Robert Wiseman, which accounts for roughly 75 % of the liquid milk market in Scotland, entered the English market in 1995, when the group built a new liquid milk dairy in Manchester. Since then Robert Wiseman has built a further dairy south of Birmingham and terminals in Northern and Western England.
In the first six months of 2003, the group's profits rose by 17% to GBP 14.3 million. Milk supplies rose by 12 % to 565 million litres.
