Arla Foods is the official sponsor of the Danish national football team that participates in the FIFA World Cup 2002

Denmark's squad at World Cup in Japan and Korea will not go short of fresh milk - from their home country.

Arla Foods, the team’s official sponsor, has been given the go-ahead for shipping consignments of fresh milk and other dairy products from Denmark to Japan and Korea during the tournament.

Last week, 400 kg milk flavoured dairy drinks and cheese were dispatched to the team's training camp in Wakayama, Japan via Paris. The consignment included the new Arla Mini bottled milk in three flavours as well as Cultura with raspberry juice, Cultura tropical blend and Cave Cheese.

"We’ve checked with the local authorities that the consignment will not be subject to any administrative delays, especially since there is foot and mouth disease and BSE in the region," explains Global Purchasing Manager Claus Haase.

Two further consignments were send on May 24 and 27.

Any further shipments will depend on the team’s success once the tournament gets under way – we hope to send several more!

The new Arla Mini bottled milk comes in three flavours: vanilla, chocolate and naturel.
