More than 300 workmen are now engaged in building the new whey powder factory in Argentina – a joint project between Arla Foods and the local dairy group, SanCor. Most of the concrete elements are in place and the tower has reached a height of 37m. The walls for the administration building and stores are also up and most concrete roads around the factory are completed. In addition, the foundations for the 7,000m3 wastewater basins are almost finished.
Instead of the conventional white, the factory will be painted light yellow to diminish reflections from the sun.
APV, the supplier of the dairy’s machinery, will begin work next week.
