On Monday morning April 17 callers to MD Foods' switchboards in Denmark were greeted by the words "Arla Foods", for the first time.
The change marked the completion of the final formalities for the merger between MD Foods and Arla on Friday afternoon. On Monday the new company was officially entered in the Register of Companies.
Over the coming days, all the new Group's employees will be formally notified that they now work for Arla Foods.
The change of name and logo type will not be fully finalised until June 6. While simple Arla Foods' letterheads and other official communications can be used immediately, legally binding documents such as invoices etc. will have to await the various departments' registration with the customs and tax authorities. These procedures are expected to be finalised afer Easter.
June 6 will be the day when the new Arla Foods name is officially launched on vehicles, products, signs etc., including the raising of the new flag at all Arla Foods' sites around the world.
