Three world championships for MD Foods

MD Foods won top honours within three categories at the recent Cheese and Butter World Championships in Wisconsin, USA. Within mozzarella, Rødkærsbro Dairy's 200 g mozzarella came out tops, while Varde Butter Dairy's Lurpak secured the World Championship title for unsalted butter. Rødkærsbro Dairy's MD Gratinkäse was voted the winner of the cheese packaging category.

MD Foods also achieved top rankings in a number of other categories. Rødkærsbro Dairy came second in the low-fat cheese category with its Cheasy Salattern (Cheasy Salad Cubes) and was awarded third place for the packaging of MD Pizzkäse. Vrinners Cream Cheese Dairy was awarded third place for its 1 kg Danslot Amaretto in the cream cheese with herbs category. Varde Butter Dairy and Lurpak came third in the salted butter category.

In addition, MD Foods won first places in the feta category with its 50 Feta which is produced on licence by White Clover Dairy in Wisconsin.

This year the biennial World Championships attracted a record number of participants with 1,024 products from 17 counties competing within the 28 product categories.
