The new Taulov Cheese Dairy is probably the most advanced of its kind in the world. Once the initial running-in phase has been completed the dairy will produce 25,000 tons of danbo, havarti and maribo annually.
The dairy will employ a staff of 140 with an additional 70 tanker drivers involved in the transport of approximately 500 million kg milk which Taulov Dairy will receive each year. The dairy’s production is expected to be split evenly between Denmark’s domestic market and exports.
The design of the new dairy allows for extensive expansion if and when the need arises. At maximum capacity the site can accommodate a plant capable of producing up to 70,000 tons per year.
At the moment, the 18 meter high ripening store with a capacity for 12,000 pallets of cheese is under construction. The official opening of Taulov Dairy took place in the tent seen at the bottom of the picture.
