Lurpak and Lurpak Spreadable are experiencing unprecedented popularity in the UK. The preferred brand within butter and spreadables, Lurpak's retail turnover in the UK over the past 12 months has just hit £100 million. This means that Lurpak is currently £10 million ahead of its closest rival, Anchor, and £9 million behind Flora, which is the overall market leader in the UK for margarine products. Finn Kolby-Larsen, Marketing Director of the UK Division, ascribes the success to Lurpak Spreadable, launched in the UK market in January 1997. "Its consistency and flavour exactly match the requirements of UK consumers", says Finn Kolby-Larsen.

Lurpak is currently 29th on the market research company, ACNielsen's.list of the UK's biggest selling daily products.
