Last Saturday saw the end of cheese production at Nordenskov Dairy. At Kirkeby Dairy cheese production stopped last Wednesday.

While Kirkeby Dairy in southern Funen closes on July 1 when cheese is packed for the final time, Nordenskov Dairy will remain open until further notice. The dairy will continue to concentrate whey from other cheese dairies as well as store and pack rindless cheese for Japan until the new Taulov cheese dairy is ready for operations later in the year.

The closure of Kirkeby Dairy and Nordenskov Dairy was decided last spring when production of danablu was transferred from Kirkeby Dairy to Høgelund Dairy. The dairy's production of traditional feta has now been transferred to Bov Dairy.
