Highly experienced Chief Financial Officer with a passion for creating shared value for owners and stakeholders in an international environment and pushing digital boundaries in business.
Since 2016, Natalie Knight has been the Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Executive Management Group at the dairy cooperative Arla Foods, a global business with sales in more than 120 markets and the world’s largest producer of organic dairy products. In addition to being responsible for finance and legal, Natalie has global responsibility for IT.
Natalie is passionate about creating strong companies and brands, which are resilient, digitally savvy, and geared towards seizing opportunities for international growth, thus creating maximum value for their owners. In her capacity as CFO at Arla Foods that means securing the highest value for more than 11,000 farmer-owners’ milk.
Natalie comments on Arla Foods’ strategy, financial performance, and developments in the global dairy market, and on how growth and sustainability go hand-in-hand. Moreover, she is an acknowledged speaker on the CFO’s role in large and global companies at a time when the world is changing faster than ever, and transformation is always on. Natalie is also focused on the debate around how companies can take a smart approach to digitization and fully release the potential of new technologies, including the use of analytics within finance. Finally, Natalie is keen to inspire more women to seek international leadership careers.
Prior to joining Arla in 2016, Natalie, who speaks fluent German and English, spent 17 years at adidas AG in Germany and the US, where she led Investor Relations and subsequently combined this role with responsibility for M&A. In 2008, Natalie became CFO of adidas North America, following which she took on the global role as Senior Vice President of Brand and Commercial Finance. Her final role at adidas was SVP Group Functions, where she was responsible for a large international team, providing strategic and financial support to adidas’ Global Operations, Indirect Procurement and other global functions. Natalie has also held Investor Relations roles in BASF and Bankgesellschaft Berlin and was also the Director for Business Information at the US Embassy in Germany.
Natalie is originally from Seattle and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and German from the University of Arizona. She moved to Germany in 1992, where she completed her master’s degree in Economics.
