Arla Foods has ordered 193 new trucks from the Swedish truck manufacturer Scania. The order concerns tankers for milk collection and trucks for distribution to retailers.

The order is twice the size of that normally placed during a year because of the large number of trucks that need to be replaced now.

Following discussion with Arla Foods’ drivers, the arrival of the new trucks will result in improvements to the working environment, ie.

The first vehicles will be delivered in January and the last orders are scheduled for delivery in early 2009.

Benefits:

  • Electronic transmissions that enables drivers to focuse more on traffic.
  • The trucks are also more environmental-friendly owing to lower CO2 emissions.
