Arla Foods will be responsible for supplying the dairy products when the international chefs’ competition, Nordic Challenge, kicks off next week.

Nordic raw materials will be at the forefront when 10 European master chefs compete to produce the best 3 course menu at Copenhagen’s Bella Centre on Monday.

The master chefs have ordered milk, cream, 48% crème fraiche and butter for their entries for the competition which is aimed at spreading awareness of the quality of Nordic raw materials.

Consequently, the Nordic Challenge competition supplements Arla Foods’ partnership with five Danish master chefs in the development of gourmet dairy products for restaurants. Some of these will be used during the Nordic Challenge competition.

“We’ve never sponsored a gastronomic event on this level before,” says Project Manager Henrik Diekema, Arla Foods. “We’re now showing a number of international chefs that we’re serious when we talk about producing high-class products for high-class chefs.”

At the Nordic Challenge Denmark will be represented by Mikkel Maarbjerg from Restaurant Ensemble in Copenhagen.

Arla Foods is an international dairy company owned by more than 8,400 farmers from Denmark, Sweden, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
