Average milk production for Arla Foods’ Danish co-operative owners increased by 40,000 kg per year to 455,000 kg, stated MD Foods’ Chairman, Knud Erik Jensen, in his report to the Board of Representatives’ meeting in Århus. This development will continue as approx. 800 milk producers sold their quota entirely or partly at December’s quota auction.

Knud Erik Jensen also commented on the auction’s result of DKK 3.60 per kg.
“It is positive that the desire to continue to produce milk in Denmark remains. At the same time, it is slightly worrying to see the milk producers say goodbye to such large amounts.”
Knud Erik Jensen informed the meeting that the seven quota auctions have handled quotas of DKK 2,650 million.
Swedish producers have not yet seen the quotas exceeded. Quotas in Sweden are traded at prices of between SEK 1.00 and 1.20.
