MD Foods establishes global purchasing function

With effect from October 1, MD Foods is creating a global purchasing function.
"In co-operation with the suppliers, the move aims at achieving maximum advantage from the considerable purchasing strength deriving from the Group's size," says Group Director Kim Nielsen.
Consequently, one buyer only will be responsible for each of the individual purchasing areas for the whole Group.
Jørgen Skaarup, Logistics Director, Europe Division, has been appointed Purchasing Director.
The individual global purchasing areas will be handled by staff in the various divisions and companies.
"This is a new way of organising the Group's purchasing. We believe that it will significantly benefit both the Group and its suppliers," says Jørgen Skaarup.
