Danish employees informed today

The 1,200 Arla employees in the Middle East will be kept on to ensure that Arla can quickly restart production if consumers are prepared to buy Danish products once more.

“The dialogue here has taken a positive turn, and we hope that the Prime Minister and Jyllands-Posten’s recent statements, combined with the positive reactions from Danish-Muslim organisations will have an impact in the Middle East,” says Executive Director Finn Hansen.

However, Finn Hansen emphasises that it will take a long time to re-establish the business and the good trading relations that Arla Foods enjoyed in the Middle East until one week ago.

Employees at the Danish dairies that supply the Middle Eastern markets were briefed on the situation today, Tuesday.

Arla Foods is an international dairy company owned by more than 8,400 farmers from Denmark, Sweden, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Arla Foods is one of the leading players in the international dairy arena with well-known brands like Arla®, Lurpak®, Puck® and Castello®. Arla Foods is focused on providing good dairy nourishment from sustainable farming and operations and is also the world's largest manufacturer of organic dairy products.
