UK retailers name Arla Foods UK best own label supplier for a second year.
Each year, the UK food industry’s leading trade magazine, The Grocer, invites buyers from the food sector to name the three top suppliers in different categories based on criteria such as reliability, price/quality ratio and consistent quality. Once again, Arla Foods was voted the winner in the dairy sector and best own label supplier.
"It’s very rare for a company to win the award twice in a row,” says Simon Stevens, Sales Director, Arla Foods UK. “Not only does the award demonstrate the high regard in which customers hold us, it also reflects Arla’s dedication to setting the industry standards, year after year.”
Around half the food products in British supermarkets are sold as own label although for dairy products the figure is even higher, i.e. 60%.
With annual sales of almost DKK 16 billion, the UK accounts for 34% of Arla Foods’ total turnover, making the UK Arla Foods’ largest market.
Arla Foods UK plc, in which Arla Foods holds a 51% stake, is listed on the London Stock Exchange.
