There is a huge demand for jobs at the new Arla Foods’ milk powder factory in Sweden where production will begin at the end of November.

The new factory will produce approx. 44 tons full-cream milk powder per year.

Arla Foods Ingredients has received over 1,000 applications for the 60 vacancies at the new milk powder factory in Vimmerby, Sweden. Most applicants already work for Arla Foods and the first vacancies have already been filled. The remaining positions are expected to be taken up next month.

The new plant’s powder tower, which is 42m high, is complete and next month will see the start of certain trial productions.
The new milk powder factory is part of the strategy and structural plan approved by Arla Foods’ Supervisory Board in 2001. Following the inauguration, milk powder production at Falkenberg, Kalmar, Kimstad and some of the powder production at Götene will be transferred to Vimmerby.

At an investment of approx. DKK 650 million, the factory will handle 380 million kg milk, i.e. approx. one fifth of Arla’s milk volume in Sweden and produce approx. 44 tons full-cream milk powder per year.
