Borgholm closes

31 May is the last normal production day at Borgholm Dairy on Öland in Sweden where half the 40 remaining employees will stop work.

”We will continue to produce some fresh cheese until June 15, but then all production will cease after that date,” says Bo Ljungklint, Öland’s Dairy Manager.

The warehouse will continue to store cheese until August.

The closure of Borgholm Dairy is part of Arla Foods’ structural plan from1991.
