When Alimentaria, one of the world’s largest food fairs, opens on Monday in Barcelona, Arla Foods will be represented by a major, independent stand for the first time.

On the backdrop of rising sales of Arla’s dairy products in Spain, the Group established a new subsidiary, Arla Foods S.A., in Madrid in the autumn.

Alimentaria, which runs from 8-12 March, provides a opportunity for profiling Arla’s products in the Spanish market.

”The aim is, first and foremost, to gain a stronger foothold in Spain and to show that we’re represented locally with an independent sales unit,” explains Regional Director in the Europe Division, Martin Vilstrup. “We’ll do this by showcasing our broad range combined with a number of new “light” products. At the same time, however, we’re continuing to focus on shredded cheese under the Finello brand – which is why the stand will be equipped with a working kitchen which prepares hot dishes with shredded cheese.”

"Nuevo Finello de Arla..." - In addition to strengthening its sales of cheese and butter to the retail sector and other products for the food industry Arla Foods has launched a series of TV commercials for one of its major products in the Spanish market, the Arla Finello range of shredded cheese.

The stand will also advertise a new website where the red Arla mark is prominently displayed – as it is on the products.

”We want to make clear to buyers, partners and competitors that Arla is a very large dairy company with a proactive stance and a genuine interest in the Iberian peninsula so that the trade can safely rely on us”, says Martin Vilstrup.
