In competition with 35 other Danish dairies, Arla Foods once again took the top honours at Denmark’s annual dairy exhibition in Herning, Jutland. More than 1,000 dairy products competed at the show.

Arla Foods won all three championship categories – cheese, butter and milk - with Aars Dairy winning its fourth consecutive title as Danish cheese champion with an Emmental 45 . Holstebro Dairy took gold in the butter category with a Lurpak Lighter Spreadable and Christiansfeld Dairy Centre came top in the milk category with an A38.

Aars Dairy’s achievement represented a unique first in that no other dairy has ever secured gold four years running. “It’s great to win in this way and the accolade means a lot to our dairy and its staff,” Dairy Manager Freddy Jessen said. “We’re aiming for a fifth victory next year.”

Aars Dairy produces 11,000 tons cheese annually of which 9,000 tons are emmental and 98% of the production is exported to Belgium, the US, France and Italy and some other markets.
