Following a trial period, the Sweden Division has decided that the fermented product A-fil (the equivalent of A38) will be produced from organic milk products only.
Sales of conventional A-fil totalled approx. 16 million kg last year. This corresponds to close to 50% of Arla Foods’ overall sales of organic liquid milk products in Sweden.
”The switch to organic A-fil is a considerable boost to our organic milk products range,” says Project Manager Eva Blomqvist.
The organic A-fil will be produced at the dairies in Örebro, Gothenburg, Jönköping and Visby. If the initiative proves successful, other products may be converted to organic versions.”
Although sales of organic milk products in Sweden are below those of Denmark, they have been steadily rising in recent years.
