Hellevad’s co-operative owners approve merger

With 63 in favour and 50 against the owners of Hellevad Omegns Andelsmejeri voted to join Arla Foods at an extraordinary general meeting before Easter.
Consequently, Denmark’s second largest co-operative dairy will become part of Arla Foods with effect from September 30, 2002.

Hellevad Omegns Andelsmejeri processes 71 million kg milk annually, primarily for butter and cheese.

During the dairy year 2000/01 Denmark had 46 dairy companies of which 14 were co-operatives and 32 were privately owned.
