Butter production at Gothenburg dairy will be transferred to the butter dairy at Götene during the second half of 2003. This has become clear following the completion of negotiations with the relevant trade unions.

The move concerns an annual production of approximately 12,000 tons butter and blends and will affect some 30 employees. These will be offered work elsewhere within the group, including Gothenburg dairy which will continue to process liquid milk and fermented products.

14 new jobs will be created at Götene dairy which is in line for new investments of approximately DKK 100 million.

The transfer of butter production from Gothenburg to Götene is part of Arla Foods' strategy plan announced in the summer of 2001.
