The whey protein product, Lacprodan Alpha-10, which is used in infant milk formula, forges ahead. In February, production capacity at the Danmark Protein factory in Nr. Vium was doubled but demand for the product is already exceeding capacity at the factory. Arla Foods Ingredients, therefore, is currently examining a number of options for increasing production capacity further.

Alpha-10 enhances the nutritional value of infant milk formula and Arla Foods markets the product to producers of infant milk formula.
Thoroughly tested at several clinics, Alpha-10 is currently subject to yet another test where parents of babies in Umeå in Sweden have been offered the opportunity to take part in an investigation where the babies’ weight, height, sleep patterns and sickness patterns and the effects on the immune system will be monitored over a period of six months. The results are expected in one to two years.
