German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder is expected to visit Arla Foods’ stand at the world’s largest food fair, Anuga, which opens in Cologne on Saturday. Following his opening speech, the Chancellor is scheduled to visit some of the 6,000 exhibitors. Among the few selected is Arla Foods.

“It is an honour that Chancellor Schröder has chosen to visit our stand,” says Henrik Stigkær, Director of Arla Foods’ German subsidiary. “As Scandinavians, we are welcomed in Germany. This, coupled with the fact that Arla Foods is Europe’s largest dairy company, has undoubtedly played a role in his decision to visit us.”

On Sunday, Arla Foods will receive a visit from the Danish Government’s Food Committee and the President of Denmark’s Agricultural Council Peter Gæmelke. On Monday, Food Minister Ritt Bjerregaard is also expected to drop by.

200,000 visitors are expected at Anuga which will close on October 17.
The Arla Foods-company AM Foods is presenting a range of cocoa and cappuccino powder products at a separate stand.

Arla Foods is an international dairy company owned by more than 8,400 farmers from Denmark, Sweden, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Arla Foods is one of the leading players in the international dairy arena with well-known brands like Arla®, Lurpak®, Puck® and Castello®.
