Frödinge Dairy's biggest product is layer cakes.

A major extension at Frödinge Dairy in Sweden was opened on Wednesday, June 6. The event was attended by Arla Foods’ Supervisory Board.
The dairy now has three lines for the production of layer cake and the new extension means that the dairy has increased its capacity to between 50 and 75 per cent. Over the past three years, SEK 65 million has been invested in the company while the plant has increased by 1,700 sq.m. 15 new staff have been taken on to cope with the increasing demand for deep-frozen layer cakes.
The investments not only offer more rational handling of raw materials, but also benefit the staff in terms of an improved working environment.
Frödinge, one of Arla Foods’ subsidiaries, has a turnover of approx. SEK 300 million. The company produces traditional Swedish cheese cake, deep-frozen layer cakes and tarts. While some years ago, cheese cake was Frödinge’s biggest product, layer cakes now account for 56 per cent of the total turnover. The largest export markets are Germany and the UK.
