The first Arla Foods' milk was consumed in Holland by the Danish Euro 2000 team.
One minute past midnight on Tuesday, June 6 the new Arla Foods' cartons were filled with milk for the first time. Or so it was believed.
It now turns out that the Danish national football team beat us to it, just as they did with the Arla Foods logo on their football kits. In fact, on the previous Friday morning, Tyrstrup Dairy had filled 150 litres of skimmed milk into the new Arla Foods' milk cartons which were then brought to the team's hotel in Holland by lorry.
Bottling manager at Tyrstrup Dairy Karin Mosegård admits that Tyrstrup jumped the gun, but emphasises that permission from appropriate quarters had already been obtained.
