Swedish dairy cows continue to produce more milk than any others in Europe. Danish cows, however, have beaten Dutch cows into second place.

According to recent statistics from the Danish Dairy Board, Swedish cows produced 7,150 kg milk per cow in 1998, while Danish cows managed 6,863 kg - i.e. half a churn (21kg) more than Dutch cows. At the bottom of the list, the average Greek cow produced 3,600 kg. Overall, the average European yield is 5,610 kg per year.
