Merger to be examined in Sweden

Yesterday, the Swedish competition authorities, Konkurrensverket, announced that the proposed merger between MD Foods and the Swedish dairy company Arla will not be referred to the EU for approval.

This means that the merger will be examined by the Swedish competition authorities who have previously announced that due to the size, the merger will be subjected to an in-depth examination with a total time limit of four months.
