MD Foods' (now Arla Foods) Europe Division, the recipient of several international logistics awards, was last week awarded Den Danske Logistikpris 2000 (The Danish Logistics Prize 2000). The award was presented by the Chairman of Ørestadsselskabet and former Danish parliamentarian Henning Christophersen as part of the annual Logistics Conference on June 14-15 in Copenhagen.

The Danish Logistics Prize is awarded to a company which has shown outstanding commitment to developing and improving its logistics business area during the year.
The judges emphasised MD/Arla Foods' successful integration with customers and key suppliers' business processes. This has increased overall efficiency right from the packaging supplier to delivery to, for instance, a German supermarket chain.

Having received the award on behalf of the division, Logistics Director Jørgen Skaarup proceeded to give conference delegates a briefing on the Europe Division's logistics effort.

Arla Foods is an international dairy company owned by more than 8,400 farmers from Denmark, Sweden, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Arla Foods is one of the leading players in the international dairy arena with well-known brands like Arla®, Lurpak®, Puck® and Castello®. Arla Foods is focused on providing good dairy nourishment from sustainable farming and operations and is also the world's largest manufacturer of organic dairy products.
