Elections to Arla Foods' Board

At the MD Foods' Board of Representatives' meeting last Monday, the 84 Danish members of the Board of Representatives of the new Arla Foods elected new board members.

The merger agreement stipulates that the new Arla Foods' Board must comprise nine milk producers from Arla and nine from MD Foods. The Board of Representatives elected Knud Erik Jensen, Region East: Kr. Ole Kristensen, Region West: Jan Nørgaard, Region South and Peter Stoffersen, Region North, to the Arla Foods Board. The remaining five Danish board members are elected by the regions which elected their regional chairmen, Kaj Ole Pedersen, Region North: Ove Møberg, Region West: Hans Jensen Lund, Region East: Niels Bøgedal, Region South and Bent Juul Sørensen, Island Regions. The elections for Arla Foods are conditional upon the Swedish competition authorities' approval of the company.
