Arla Foods' new cheese dairy in Taulov, Jutland will be the group's third dairy to open to visitors. Since the yoghurt dairy in Brabrand, outside Århus, opened its doors to visitors in 1995, a total of 30,000 people have visited Brabrand or the liquid milk dairy in Slagelse, which also houses a visitors’ gallery.

Even in advance of the dairy's opening, interest from the public was considerable. "We accept pre-booked groups only and some groups have booked as far ahead as August 2001," said Visitor Manager Sanne Vinther. "So far, in the months up to Christmas, 1,400 reservations have been made."
The visitors’ gallery, which is expected to bring the total number of annual visitors to Arla Foods' dairies to between 20,000 and 25,000, is located on the building's first floor. From here the visitors can follow the entire production process right from the moment the fresh milk arrives at the dairy until the finished cheese is dispatched to customers.
