200 Arla employees will lose their current jobs when the distribution units in Nyköping, Jönköping, Sävsjö, Stenstorp and Lidköping and the cheese slicery in Kalmar close down in 2001. Subsequently all storage, processing and distribution of cheese, butter and spreadables in Sweden will be gathered at Arla Foods' new SEK 500 million plant at Götene.

All staff affected by the change have been offered work at Götene, which will employ 230 people.
