As the only dairy in the UK market to do so, MD Foods has secured a product licence for the commercial exploitation of the new Star Wars film Episode One - The Phantom Menace.

Following the agreement, MD Foods will launch a six-pack yoghurt dessert with a Star Wars game and original pictures from the new film on the packaging as well as a Tatooine popping candy yoghurt. Star Wars' Luke Skywalker, of course, comes from Planet Tatooine.

Expectations for the new Star Wars dairy products are high in the UK retail trade. "This is the first time ever that all major multiples have listed a brand new dairy product from day one," explains Torben Lebeck, Product Manager for MD Foods' fresh goods business in the UK.

The MD Foods' Star Wars products will be produced at Brabrand Dairy in Denmark.
