MD Foods' exports of dairy products to South East Asia have seen a 30 % increase over the past year. This is well above the average rise in Danish exports to the Asian market which totalled 17.1 per cent from January to May compared to the same period last year.

MD Foods' advance has been particularly strong in Hong Kong, where Lurpak is now the clear market leader for packed butter with a market share of 32 %. Of total Lurpak sales the recently launched Lurpak Spreadable accounts for approximately one third.
In Singapore, the Philippines and Malaysia, sales of dairy products are developing positively, too. "We're hopeful that the trend will continue so we can take advantage of the recovery in South East Asia," says Sales Manager Jens Thamdrup from MD's office in Kuala Lumpur.
Besides butter, MD Foods exports UHT double cream and cheese such as mozzarella, blue, brie, camembert and havarti to South East Asia.
