Specialist within Trade Policy and Food Regulatory Affairs - Aarhus

At our office in Aarhus you become part of the Global Regulatory Affairs, Arla Foods Ingredients (AFI) team. Joining  6 colleagues you will be 1 of our 2 trade experts responsible for ensuring that we have access to our global markets and the understand how different trade agreements can be of benefit to AFI. Arla Foods Ingredients is an independent company within the Arla Foods Group and a global leader in natural whey ingredients for many different categories including bakery, beverages, dairy, infant and sport nutrition.

The job requires you to understand the complex range of AFI products and how we source raw materials and transform this into knowledge about how we can utilize trade agreements to create market access and position our products under the right tariff codes. You will work closely with many stakeholders both internally (supply chain, commercial and R&D and our production sites) and externally working with the authorities and embassies around the world.

Ensure free movement of milk and dairy products
You will be a part of a team driving trade policy activities on a global scale for AFI. On a daily basis, you provide support to the business building the necessary knowledge and procedures related to global trade policy.

You will also have an important role in supporting the business in relation to comply with trade administrative issues, import duties, barriers to trade, international trade agreements, customs classification of products, dairy registrations etc., to ensure that AFI products move freely across borders. 

AFI is growing and exporting to new countries continually which requires us to understand both the political landscape and trade implications in the exporting country, either together with the Danish authorities or embassies; or together with our commercial teams. Hence this position gives you a unique opportunity to be part of new growth adventures for whey solutions.

If you have knowledge about organic certification or organic legislation it is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Structured and service minded
We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, independent and detail-oriented person who either have experience working with food ingredients or have years of experience working with trade. Either way, you have a passion for and a thorough understanding of - dairy and/or trade regulation and a passion for learning more about our whey protein based products.

You have a deep business understanding for the full value chain in a food company, a global mindset and the capabilities to take our services and support to the next level. You know that clear and concise communication is an important key to success. Additionally, it is important that you have solid interpersonal skills and the power to interact with authorities and decision makers. Lastly, you speak and write English, and it would be an advantage if you speak Danish as well as other languages.
