As a senior scientist, you contribute to new product development and use your broad knowledge of dairy and health science to promote our health agenda – making sure the right product information reaches our consumers. 

“You will join our nutrition team where you will be surrounded by 9 academics who are passionate about nutrition and health. We are fortunate to be part of a food cluster at the newly built Arla Innovation Centre near Aarhus, Denmark. As a team within R&D, we get to leave our mark on the products we send out into the world, making sure they’re healthy and that we are transparent in the way we communicate about health to the consumers,” explains Director of Global Nutrition Anne Louise Mørkbak.

About the job

You will be a key player in setting the direction for dairy and health research in Arla, as you contribute to the product development process from early ideation to production. Moreover, you will play a central role in determining how Arla communicates about health in general.

Building relationships with stakeholders both inside and outside the business, you will translate science into business, bringing specialist knowledge into the development process. We have a high focus on cross-functional collaboration, and you will be a representative for the health agenda in various internal and external fora.

On a typical day, you will:

  • Collaborate with marketing and communications on how to brand new products and engage with consumers around health and nutrition
  • Participate in projects with our partner universities to deliver the future of dairy
  • Contribute to development of new technologies such as sugar reduction
  • Engage in discussions to keep our ideas fresh and our contribution relevant  

Who are you?
As a senior scientist, you bring a broad understanding of dairy and health science, and you have several years of research experience from the field of nutrition and science. Your professional qualifications stem from an MSc as well as a PhD in nutrition and health science or a similar field.

With your strong business mindset, you are able to translate science into business, and experience from the food industry will be considered an advantage.

Finally, you are a dedicated team player who enjoys engaging in discussions with your peers as well as communicating about your field of expertise to non-specialists. You are comfortable communicating in English, and stepping into a matrix organisation, you are motivated by the opportunity to become an opinion leader.
