About the job
As senior maintenance manager, you will be in charge of 4 maintenance experts, situated centrally in England, Denmark and Sweden. While your employees mainly deal with operational and tactical maintenance tasks for the individual dairy plants, your job will be to manage our overall strategic maintenance agenda. As such, it will be up to you to set the direction for Maintenance globally while helping your employees prioritise tasks.

Using your strategic mindset, you will revisit our maintenance strategy and work closely with key stakeholders to understand the underlying needs in order to come up with ways of optimising the strategy. Specifically, your tasks include:
Clarifying and agreeing on governance and road maps with senior supply chain leaders
Establishing budget governance
Determining right strategic leavers and balance efforts within the department to ensure progress and ambition within Maintenance
Specific areas to consider will be for example:
Achieving balance between insourcing and outsourcing
Optimising inventory management
Outline how best to support out production optimisation roll-outs

There will be some travel activity associated with this position as you travel 30-40 days a year.

Who are you?

With a background in economics or engineering, you are strategically capable and have probably worked in a similar position within maintenance e.g. with strategic purchasing or in a central excellence function. Experience with the creation and implementation of maintenance strategies is an advantage. Likewise, if you have experience with capex projects and can act as sounding board, this would be a bonus. We expect you to:
Be adept at project management
Have great communication skills and a talent for building relations as you interact with stakeholders at all levels
Be driven and wish to add management capabilities to your skill set
Have strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, and if you understand SAP PM, it is a plus
Be fluent in spoken and written English

What do we offer?
You will be heading an experienced, competent and largely independent team who has worked with both maintenance and utility in the past and just need for you to set the direction. In addition, you will be part of a management team, consisting of 6 colleagues, who are in charge of teams of their own. Together you share knowledge and act as sounding boards to each other.
