Significantly stepping up on sustainable packaging
Packaging is in the spotlight. Our consumers and customers are demanding more sustainable solutions, new technologies are evolving faster than ever and governments are ramping up regulations.
Also driven by Arla’s ambition of being carbon net zero by 2050, of which packaging is one of the key enablers, we are therefore significantly stepping up on sustainable packaging and setting the team - Sustainable Packaging Innovation - which will prepare us for the challenges ahead and increase the company’s focus not only on short term, but also on long term development requirements.
You drive our sustainable packaging strategy and build strong innovation collaborations
In this role you will play a key role in building and driving a holistic packaging strategy, which balances sustainability, cost and commercial considerations and which has a clear vision outlined for the packaging materials and technologies of the future.
You will have a very outreaching position with responsibility for establishing a research portfolio and run selected projects with external partners, such as universities and suppliers across dairy categories and packaging materials.
You will also help engage with our key customers around sustainable packaging solutions in close collaboration with our commercial colleagues.
Last but not least you will creatively apply new ways of driving packaging innovation, e.g. via Hackathons, Sprints, start-up pitches supported by our innovation experts in these areas.
Scientific understanding and solid business acumen
As one of our leaders you strive to envision the future, engage the right people and deliver outstanding performance. Taking big steps without losing your footing, you need the confidence to naturally take the lead and the motivation to make fundamental decisions with both global and local impact. Teaming up with the best inside and outside the business, you will have the chance to grow every day.
You hold a Master’s degree or a PhD within, e.g. packaging, food, chemistry, technology or engineering and preferably supplemented by a business-related degree like MBA or similar.
You have a solid and extensive experience developing business areas with particular focus on consumer based solutions strongly delivered with the right science and technology.
As you will be interacting with people at all levels across the globe, you will need excellent relationship management and communication skills. As a person you are outspoken and curious, and you don’t give up.
