Scientist, Proteins and New Product Development - Nr. Vium

Arla Foods Ingredients is an independent company within the Arla Foods Group and a global leader in milk based protein ingredients. One of the cornerstones in our business is our dedicated scientists that develop our nutritional protein fractions and enzymatic protein hydrolysates.

Your new work place is in AFI R&D in Nr. Vium – which consists of 60 competent and dedicated employees (scientists, technicians and administrative employees). You will be employed in a challenging position within the Protein Fractions and Hydrolysates team in the R&D Develop department. Your new colleagues have extensive experience in protein science, fractionation, process technology, application of enzymes and project management. Your goal will be to conduct trials to drive new product ideas through development and to help identify and shape new ideas.

Experienced protein scientist
Preferably, you are an experienced protein scientist with process technology experience. Your educational background may be within engineering, biochemistry or an equivalent education in the life sciences. You have at least 2-5 years of experience from a similar position in the industry (preferably dairy or other protein manufacturing) where you have been working with proteins and/or enzymes. Alternatively, you have acquired similar skills through a postdoctoral career in academia.

AFI R&D is an international organization and the common language is English. You may currently be located in another country and are ready to make a transition to work in a highly competitive environment in Denmark.

Candidates with experience in the following areas are preferred:

  • Experience in protein characterization and protein purification/fractionation
  • Broad experience with analyses of proteins and ability to interpret data including LC-MS/MS data.  
  • Experience in protein hydrolysate development with a broad understanding of proteolytic enzymes and enzymology in general.
  • Experience in process technology and production scale fractionation using methods such as membranes filtration, chromatography or spray drying
  • Basic knowledge of milk proteins, lipids, minerals and their characteristics
  • Experience with management of new product development projects
  • Experienced in evaluating and writing patents
