In our team we apply and develop many different analyses to evaluate the chemical composition of our products. We apply GC/MS techniques looking into aroma and flavor compounds. By LC/MS we deep-dive into the protein and peptide composition. Through IC we follow the mineral composition, sugar composition and metabolites in our products. We collaborate with many different functions at the Innovation center. With the purpose to transform food chemistry into business opportunities for Arla.
About the job
As a Research technician in Food Chemistry in Arla Foods’ Innovation Centre in Skejby (Aarhus), you will be joining a team of 9 specialists, all experts within their fields. You will be part of a group of 4 research technicians, covering for one of them during her maternity leave. As part of your job you will be responsible for mineral and peptide analysis, as well as being the key contact to our external laboratories.
You will plan your own tasks covering taking in requests, planning and coordinating laboratory trials and analyses, laboratory work, data handling, sending samples for external analyses and maintaining our equipment.
Who are you?
We expect that you have a degree in laboratory technology. You are skilled in using LC and IC equipment and have knowledge within food chemistry. Strong communication skills and a learning mindset is important as we work across many functions and explore new scientific areas. A logical mindset with a precise and systematic approach is important for this function.
Furthermore, it is essential that you:
- Have knowledge with IT software such as Outlook and Excel
- Speak and write English effortlessly
- Can speak some Danish (is an advantage but not a necessity)
- Possess a bit of humor J
