Key partner to various innovation projects
You will be a key partner to various innovation projects related to shelf life extension of Arla Foods products. Specifically, you will maintain, build and strengthen expertise/competences on shelf life extension by using various ingredients (fermentates, natural antimicrobials, protective cultures) and novel technologies. Additionally, you will work with food safety and risk analyses providing support to various stakeholders and projects throughout the business. As part of your job, you will design, perform, evaluate and report scientific microbiology trials for extension of product shelf life from lab scale through to pilot plant scale and production sites at dairies. You will achieve success by transforming scientific concepts into business opportunities that bring value to Arla Foods. To ensure that Arla’s business needs are met, you will proactively enable a two-way transfer of knowledge between the organisation and relevant internal and external partners.
Research Scientist with solid Food Microbiology background
You hold at least a MSc in Microbiology (PhD not required), and is coupled with industrial microbiology background on food spoilage, food safety, hygiene and related analytical and predictive methods/models. You have been trained in the food industry and have knowledge of related microbiological processes (e.g. contamination routes).
Moreover, you thrive in an independent role where you use your curiosity and creativity to seek new information to keep developing your area. You also have a structured and analytical approach to your work enabling you to create sustainable results. On top of that, you are good communicator which is necessary for effective stakeholder engagement, in particular in the Academia/Industry interface, but also within Arla Foods markets/business units.
