The role will cover the Top 4 Food Retailers and will be based in the North East of England covering an area including Northumberland South, Tyne & Wear, Durham and Cleveland. In this role you will report to the Sales Optimisation Controller. This is a home based field sales role in which the successful applicant will be working to achieve the optimum sales of Arla Foods products, by effectively supporting and marketing the company's products in store, with a territory made up of circa 100 stores, by ensuring that compliance & availability are maximised, and to provide retailer intelligence relating to store groups (both competitor & Arla Brands), supporting technical in relation to potential quality issues, in order to help prevent emergency product withdrawals.
Demonstrating true territory management, you will help plan and organise a personal sales strategy by maximising the return on time investment for the territory that you are responsible for. Analysing territory potential and determining the value of existing and prospective customers to the organization, you will establish, develop and maintain business relationships with both current customers and new customers in the assigned territory in order to generate sales for Arla products via telephone calls and in person visits.
Capturing a series of data whilst in store which will include availability, promotional and merchandising compliance, you will identify and address any issues in relation to these matters, spotting and delivering sales opportunities. You will be required to communicate to store colleagues through a variety of methods including formal presentations, when significant sales opportunities, marketing campaigns and NPD is launched. Building and providing constructive feedback to stores on issues identified during your visits, you will take any required actions needed, providing Arla with industry leading insight into in store activities, processes and opportunities for growth. You will monitor your own performance against targets, achieving agreed targets on KPI's, achievement tables and distribution / traitings targets of Arla products.
This role would be suitable for a recent graduate with some retail experience or experience within a sales role. Alternatively, you may have previous experience working in the Top 4, ideally as a line manager in store or as a Territory Field Sales Representative. You will be highly self-motivated and results orientated with the ability to deliver within time scales, whilst being an effective communicator who is capable of building strong working relationships both internally and throughout your assigned territory. You will have competent IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Applications, Outlook and Social Media.
