Then join our Product & Process Design team at the Arla Innovation Centre in Aarhus, Denmark. We operate in the early exploration phase where we work across product categories and explore new to Arla product and technology areas. In addition we employ various innovation tools in order to provide the business with feasible product solutions based on consumer insights, science and technology. By joining our team you would get an opportunity for personal and technical development learning new skills on a daily basis by working in the highly creative environment at the Innovation Centre exploring new ideas and designing the future of dairy.
Your main objective is to lead and participate in early phase innovation projects that allow us to develop healthy and natural products across and beyond product categories such as ‘Butter & Spreads’, ‘Cheese’, ‘Milk &Yoghurt’, ‘Cooking’ and ‘Milk Based Beverages’. You will build a broad network across Arla Foods and work collaboratively with relevant functions such as New Product Development, Science, Global Nutrition, our Brands and local markets in order to deliver new business opportunities. It is key that you envision the future and mature new ideas whilst having a strong business mindset. You will secure commitment from key stakeholders and facilitate business implementation by bringing forward commercial rationale and business case calculations. Consumer centricity is highly important making sure we only develop solutions that create added value for our users.
Key skills required
Strong technical project management skills are absolute key as well as the ability to overlook an umbrella of projects in relation to your area of responsibility. You have solid knowledge of how to employ different innovation methodologies in the product design process making sure our consumers’ needs are always catered for. A growth mindset and the willingness to experiment with our Innovation Toolbox and constantly improving our ways of working is a crucial characteristic for the candidate.
You feel comfortable both in a dairy processing and commercial environment and utilize your strong presentation skills to effectively communicate with relevant functions across the organization when translating technical solutions into consumer propositions that are aligned with our strategy. You leverage expertise inside and outside the organization to deliver innovative solutions to business challenges.
You have a MSc or PhD in Food Science, Process Engineering or similar and previous experience in FMCG R&D product or technology development roles where your project management skills have been developed to the fullest. It is a big plus if you have been working in more commercial and marketing roles as well. You are familiar with Design Thinking and have successfully developed new products by using the Design Thinking toolbox. You have a performance-oriented mindset and good business understanding as well as basic knowledge of business finance. Finally, you are fluent in English both written and verbally.
