Production Operative, Oswestry (summer contract)

We are currently recruiting a Production Operator to join our site based in Oswestry which operates 24 hours, 7 days per week. This role will involve working on a 3 shifts on, 3 shifts off days and nights shift pattern to accommodate increased volume.  This is a summer temporary contract based role running to mid September 2017 initially.  You will provide the production team with all the required materials for all orders received and will be responsible for the loading and unloading of articulated lorries using fork lift trucks, ensuring loads are finished and goods are dispatched on time.

About the Role:

As part of the production team on site, you will be working together to achieve goals and targets packing a range of products in different formats for a variety of customer.

  • Ensure quality and food safety within in own area of responsibility
  • Ensure an efficient and stable production/packing process
  • Challenge processes and practices, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and optimisation
  • Resolve reports and escalates issues regarding operations as appropriate
  • Ensure that the department complies with Arla Foods’ standards and policies

About You:

The successful candidate will have ideally worked in a similar production role within a food manufacturing environment and will be a strong communicator with an understanding of food safety principles and practices beneficial.  Most importantly you will need to be able to operate within a challenging but rewarding factory environment that is physically demanding and can entail repetitive tasks.  You need to have a can do attitude, be willing to work, with good communication skills and enjoy working as part of  a team.
