As a production manager, you become part of the management group at Kalmar Dairy - a dairy in growth focusing on the production and development of cheese primarily for the Swedish market. Here you will play an important role in leading and developing employees and business through others. In other words, you will empower leaders and contribute with a good social ability and solid leadership experience.
About the job
Referring directly to the Site Director, you will be responsible for the daily production of Swedish classic cheese. Providing professional leadership and coaching to your employees, you ensure that we meet our stretched targets and live up to our customers’ expectations. Your area of responsibility includes production of well-known brands such as Präst, Herrgård, Greve and Svecia cheese e.g. You are also responsible for the Receiving and Treatment department, the ultrafiltration department, and the cheese stores.
As a Production Manager you ensure agreed deliverables by means of an optimal organization and production process. You will challenge status quo in order to optimize our overall performance via continuous improvement in the production while raising the bar for safety, high quality, performance and production capacity. To achieve this, you continuously launch initiatives to create a healthy learning environment, where the employees are free to develop and obtain new competences. Lean will be a natural part of your everyday work.
As part of the local management team you will also play a key role in developing possibilities for new business offer as well as other strategic projects and development activities. Moreover, you will establish a wide network within Arla Foods to realize the continuous development and progress of the dairy.
Who are you?
To be successful in this role we think that you hold a degree in for instance Dairy Science and Tech-nology or have experience from a similar position, where you have run a large production and had management responsibilities. It is also a plus if you are familiar with Lean.
You have established yourself as a strong leader with professional pride. You approach situations with an open mind-set as well as determination and clear priorities. You have good communication skills and excel at creating long-term relations both internally and externally. Your employees respect you for your insight and your dedication, and you are a true ambassador for our products. Clearly, you must have the will, urge and drive to create change and set direction for your departments. Finally, it goes without saying that you are passionate about the dairy industry and master English at negotiation level.
