We are currently looking to recruit an Engineer at our established Westbury site which processes around 550 million litres of milk a year, to make 55,000 tonnes milk powders and 65,000 tonnes of butter and cream.  The role will work on a continental shift pattern which includes days and nights and repeats on a 28 day cycle (working 14 out of 28) .

The role will be responsible for delivering operational plans and delivering day-to-day team objectives to deliver the business policies and programmes within a defined specialist area.  You will respond immediately to breakdowns and solve problems in the shortest time possible, using pro-active plant maintenance, planned maintenance, continuous improvement and root cause analysis. 

You will maintain safety management and risk assessment, adhering to the correct hygiene management, keeping areas clean and tidy and ensuring a safety culture is promoted.  Liaising with the Team Leader, Area Coordinators in Powder and Butter Shift Operations, you will deliver the best response to breakdowns, ensuring PPM is to a minimum of 98%, eradicating recurring issues and delivering immediate response to breakdowns with efficient diagnosis of faults. In addition, you will provide coaching to Operator Technicians.

Make an impact

The successful candidate will be multi skilled in electrical and mechanical principles , with a background of working within Manufacturing (ideally within food) and experience of interrogation and fault-finding.  Experience of PLC and Siemens S7 control systems beneficial. You will be confident in analysing and problem solving on the process and will be a strong communicator who is keen to take part in development activities in Dairy skills and Continuous Improvement.  A HNC (or equivalent) in electrical\mechanical principles is desirable.
