Every single one of us plays an important role and together we build on our 10bn Euros turnover and establish our position as one of the largest dairy companies in the world.
We are now recruiting for a multi skilled Shift Engineer to work at our Stilton manufacturing site in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. This site is the longest-standing Stilton manufacturer in the world; a heritage that we are rightly proud of.
The successful candidate will work on a shift rota reporting into the Engineering Manager, and will be a key member of the team responsible for ensuring that the daily production plan and maximum plant performance is achieved.
The role will involve carrying out breakdown repairs and making continuous improvements by identifying and minimising root cause issues, undertaking planned preventive maintenance and conducting safety checks and raising any safety concerns appropriately. You will promote and maintain performance, behavioural, health and safety, environmental and quality standards and will ensure all relevant shift documentation, including Planned Preventative Maintenance, shift logs, handover documents, food safety hand-back sheets, timesheets and stores records are updated and consistent.
We would welcome applications from candidates who are multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical principles, preferably with a previous background of maintaining equipment within a food packaging or fast paced packaging environment. You will have excellent time management skills and will be able to make quick decisions, resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
In addition, you will have a good knowledge and understanding of health and safety requirements and the drive and ambition to develop and improve site performance standards.
A HNC (or equivalent) in electrical\mechanical principles and an understanding of dairy/beverage process control would be an advantage but is not essential.
In return you can expect a competitive salary and benefits package and the opportunity to work with a market leading company that encourages internal promotion.
