As Engineering Manager working at our cheese manufacturing site in Trevarrian, Cornwall. This is a pivotal role on site and will form part of the Senior Management team, working closely with all respective functions from Manufacturing, QEHS, Finance and PTD. The successful candidate will work on day shifts Monday – Friday, reporting into the Site Director.
Managing a team of engineers, you will ensure maintenance and optimal efficiency of the production plant, equipment, facilities and systems and ensure that the site complies with Arla Foods engineering specific standards and policies as well as the applicable law. You will manage and document maintenance activities ensuring quick responses in recovering production facilities in case of breakdown. You will prepare, negotiate and manage contracts with service providers in accordance with applicable policies and deliver input relating to investment needs for the site. You will be involved in business case preparation and delivery of the sites strategic CAPEX projects. In addition, you will participate actively in and contribute to global engineering forums to ensure alignment and learning between sites.

The successful candidate will have experience in a maintenance management role gained within a fast moving manufacturing environment, preferably food. You will have a strong aptitude for financial control and previous experience of managing budgets and an understanding in support of the site maintenance forecast and project management. Recognised as a leader of people, you will have a proven track record of coaching and developing others and delivering results through your team. An understanding of continuous improvement and lean methodologies is desirable. This is a senior position on site and therefore, it is essential that the successful candidate has the proven ability to influence the site and management team.
